Cinnabon’s world-famous buns arrive at Toombul Shopping Centre
In the lead-up to the Christmas frenzy, folks flocked to Toombul Shopping Centre in droves – not to snag some festive deals, but rather to sample the lovingly glazed buns at Australia’s first Cinnabon outlet. The world-famous baked-goods dispensary opened at the revitalised hub in mid-December, going on to sell more than 20,000 cinnamon rolls in five days. These numbers alone should pique your curiosity, but if you need some more persuasion to make a pilgrimage, read on …
Words such as ‘iconic’ and ‘legendary’ are thrown around as descriptors so much these days, they’ve almost lost their true meaning. But when it comes to succinctly describing the internationally renowned fresh-baked treats brand Cinnabon, few other words will suffice. In the latter half of 2019 Cinnabon announced it would be branching into the Australian market in partnership with the Bansal Group (the crew responsible for bringing Carl’s Jr. across the pond), picking Brisbane as the landing site for the first wave of Cinnabon kiosks – adding to its sizeable portfolio of more than 1,200 franchised locations worldwide. Anyone who has ventured to the United States and savoured the tender dough and fluffy frosting of the classic cinnamon roll knows this is a big deal, so when Cinnabon officially opened at Toombul Shopping Centre on Saturday December 14, hordes of glaze-craving punters were there to greet it.
Follow the scent of cinnamon permeating Toombul’s ground-floor level and you’ll find Cinnabon positioned just across from Coles. Once there, try and resist the urge to press your face to the glass cabinet and gawk at the treats available. In addition to the Classic Roll (imbued with signature Makara cinnamon), customers will also be able to purchase treats such as Cinnabon’s Caramel PeacanBons, BonBites, CinnaSweeties and Cinnabon Stix, as well as coffee, blended frozen Chillattas, and a collection of classic and slushy lemonades. Just like our inability to stop at one roll, Cinnabon will be rolling out more Brisbane locations throughout 2020. A new kiosk is already in the works for Mount Gravatt, which is slated to open later this month. Rest assured, we’ll share more details on that one once the info comes to light.
