Brisbane’s Cereal for Coffee provides for hungry schoolkids in need

One in five Aussie kids go to school hungry, which can lead to concentration issues, learning difficulties and behavioural problems. One local charity is working hard to change these stats, one nutritious brekky at a time.

Your delicious morning ritual doesn’t just kickstart your day in the most enjoyable way possible, but it also carries the potential to completely transform a local child’s day for the better, thanks to Cereal for Coffee. The Brisbane-based charity offers a wide range of premium coffee beans, readymade cold brew, coffee grinders and reusable KeepCups on its online store, with all profits going towards breakfast clubs in schools across Brisbane. The charity currently feeds an average of 1100 local kids every week, and with your help it could be feeding even more rumbling bellies.

Choose from a delightful carton of Melbourne’s Mana Cold Brew, local roaster Fonzie Abbott’s Highside, Drifter, Boxer or Decaf blends, or a wide variety of specialty beans from Roast by Yili, and feel good while doing good. Alternatively, keep an eye out for the Hey Brew social enterprise pop-up coffee shop in The Redlands, stay tuned for the next Cereal for Coffee event at which you can donate a box of cereal to any participating cafe and receive a free coffee in return, or simply pledge a donation online now. Cereal for Coffee relies on donations, sponsors and its volunteer network to continue its work, so every bag or cup you purchase makes a significant difference. When a child misses out on breakfast, it deprives them of around two hours’ essential learning time; if they go hungry once a week over the course of the year, it’s equivalent to missing one whole term of school. Place your order online and help give local Brisbane kids a chance to be their best.
