Has ‘organic’ become a marketing gimmick?

Say the word ‘organic’ in a crowded room and you’ll arouse a wide range of opinions and assumptions. Step inside a Japanese sake brewery

While it may only take a second to slip down the throat, the art of making sake is by no means easy. The labour-intensive process requires workers at the fifth-generation Tedorigawa brewery in Japan to rise before dawn and spend long hours handcrafting the award-winning concoctions that are enjoyed all over the world. The documentary The Birth of Saké is a project by filmmakers Erik Shirai, Makoto Sasa and Tara Hohenberger, which takes viewers inside a traditional sake brewery. A work in progress, the film was successfully funded through Kickstarter last week, which will allow the team to film the final scenes and embark on post-production work.
