Last week, the crew behind Sue's Burgers & Shakes cut the ribbon on its second throwback-style diner. Naturally, burger-loving locals turned out in droves. But it's not just Sue's menu of mouth-watering two-handers that folks frothed over – they went crazy for Malteser-infused thickshakes, poutine fries, Southern-style fried-chicken bites and oozy Philly cheesesteaks. It's all available in a vibrantly coloured, neon-lit space in the heart of South City Square in Woolloongabba. Put it on your list to try this weekend. more

One such business was neighbourhood watering hole Dapple + Waver, which upon closure received an overwhelming outpour of community support mourning its closure.
