Sweet tooths assemble! Eat Street Northshore debuts frozen custard in a conut

Since the opening of Eat Street Northshore’s famous KombiAlley, Brisbane’s dessert scene has simply never been the same. We are pleased to report that the gang is at it again with a brand-new craze – prepare to wrap your lips around authentic frozen custard served in a fresh conut (that’s a cronut cone, in case you were unaware). more

As you might have already heard, home-grown specialty coffee outfit Campos is picking up sticks and relocating its flagship cafe. While fans of the original Wandoo Street venue will need to travel a little bit further to take advantage of the cafe’s brand of dine-in service, the roaster wasn’t going up and leave the area entirely. Campos Piccolo is a stylish takeaway-oriented cafe on the corner of Ann and Wandoo Street – a colourful haunt that is keeping a Campos presence where it has been cherished for more than a decade. more

Get revved up at Smoked Garage’s impressive new showroom and cafe

It was a sad day for motorcycle enthusiasts when Smoked Garage packed up its workshop space on Bridge Street. The blues were short lived when it was revealed that the popular custom motorcycle business wasn't gone for good, only relocating a short distance. The move has proved fortuitous – Smoked Garage’s new space is pretty darn impressive, and you can dispel any thoughts of grease-coated workshops. more

Stuff your face with picture-perfect pastries from The Pie Hole

To ‘shut your pie hole’ is to be quiet, but when the pies are so good we’re more inclined to declare our love from the tops of the tallest buildings. The Pie Hole is a cheeky new entrant in Brisbane’s market vendor scene, delivering freshly baked pies of the sweet and savoury variety and frankly the only time you’ll hear us shut up about it is when we’re stuffing our own pie holes. more

W Brisbane welcomes sustainable southern icon Three Blue Ducks

Over the past seven years, Three Blue Ducks has grown into one of Australia’s most beloved hospitality groups. Following on from its first location in Bronte and its subsequent venues in Byron Bay and Rosebery, the crew consisting of Mark Labrooy, Sam Reid-Boquist, Chris Sorrell, Darren Robertson, Jeff Bennett and Andy Allen were approached by W Brisbane to implement a new Three Blue Ducks concept as the hotel’s signature restaurant. On Friday June 1, Three Blue Ducks unveiled its Brisbane location, the group’s largest and most sophisticated set up to date. Sweet sustainability – Alphabet Cafe settles in to its new West End home

From humble market vendor to supplier of sweet-treats for some of Brisbane’s best eateries, the past six years has seen Alphabet Cafe become one of Brisbane’s biggest success stories. Although they could be content to dominate the city’s cake scene, the Alphabet sisters Zoe and Meghan Tulleners always envisioned opening their own cafe. That dream is now a reality, with Alphabet Cafe’s charming West End spot commencing its inaugural brunch service last week. Alphabet Cafe’s spread extends far beyond cakes and coffee, with a wholesome selection of dishes that foregrounds ethically sourced and sustainable ingredients, anchored by a conscientious approach to closed-loop waste management. more
