The Street Photographer: Vintaged Bar + Grill

Rumoured to make the best mashed potato in town, Vintaged Bar + Grill is launching a new spring/summer menu this weekend with plenty of locally sourced meats and seafoods taking pride of place on each plate. Located inside The Hilton in Brisbane City, the space sees a dry-aged meat cabinet add a striking display to the open kitchen, which is run by chef Jeremy Clark and sous chef Dario Florino. Those planning a Festival Flavours dinner or two during Brisbane Festival in September can prepare to whet their appetite at Vintaged with a sumptuous dish of O’Connor pasture-fed beef flat iron marble score two with sarladaise potato and herb salad, paired with a glass of Vinaceous Raconteur Cabernet Sauvignon. Feast your eyes on Restaurant Frantzén’s fare

Bellies will rumble. Eyeballs will pop. Mouths will drool. The incredible creations that land on the tables at Björn Frantzén’s Swedish powerhouse Restaurant Frantzén sure do some interesting things to those lucky enough to be in their midst. But now the 12th best restaurant on earth is inviting foodies near and far to take a peek into the kitchen and watch the miracles that can happen over the course of two hours, sped up into just three minutes. Think pomegranate and galangal root macaron with creamy chicken liver, king crab poached in beer and dill, and veal sweetbreads perfumed with liquorice and caramelised yuzu. Shot by photographer Martin Botvidsson and produced by vdKG Design, this video should come with complimentary bibs. more

The Street Photographer: Tacombi at Fonda Nolita, New York

Along the leafy streetscapes of Nolita, brick apartments melt into discerning fashion boutiques and places to eat below, with the pocket keeping a sense of calm often lost in the bustle of a mega city. At the top end of Elizabeth Street, the unexpected glow of lightbulbs and bursts of colour peek out of a converted garage, luring passersby inside. Upon closer inspection, Tacombi at Fonda Nolita is an intriguing Mexican den, bringing the beach vibe of the Yucatán Peninsula to the streets of New York. Owner Dario Wolos has paired with chef and Food Network personality Aarón Sánchez to devise a menu of tacos filled with lush slow-cooked meats and fragrant toppings, served from the Tacombi (taco plus VW Kombi).
