Art and food collide at Spring Hill’s Tumbling Stone

Let's get something straight first up – this is a restaurant, not a typical hotel restaurant. Despite the fact that it adjoins Spring Hill's soon-to-be-opened The Johnson Art Series Hotel, Tumbling Stone holds its own as a stand-alone eatery and bar, which can often be a difficult feat to achieve. Ahead of The Johnson's official opening on Friday September 16 (we'll have more details on that next week), Tumbling Stone has opened its doors early to offer graze-style dining in a laid-back setting. more

In light of Brexit, we can understand if you're not overly keen on visiting the UK at the moment. Instead you can just trot on over to Paddington, and find yourself a cushy nook in new bar and eatery Hope and Anchor. more

Announcing the Taste of Queensland Awards winners

We put the call out in early May for nominations for the Taste of Queensland Awards and are now excited to present to you the winners in each category of breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and cocktail. See, The Weekend Edition loves it when a Brisbane bar or restaurant serves up a culinary creation or cocktail using the best of Queensland produce – so much so that it jumped at the chance to partner with the Queensland Government for Queensland Week from June 4–12. The Taste of Queensland Awards celebrates the use of Queensland produce and recognises the support of local farmers, providores, bakers, brewers and gourmet artisans by Brisbane’s cafes, restaurants and bars.
