As far as burgers are concerned, Australia is the land of opportunity. We’ve seen an influx of new concepts across the country in recent years, including a few big-ticket overseas arrivals and we can’t get enough. Carl’s Jr. broke into the Australian market a few years ago and has gradually planted seeds in New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. The brand, which made a name for itself with a raunchy marketing campaign and a menu of California-influenced eats, is set to open its second Queensland location in Redbank Plains today, Thursday January 18. Operated by the Bansal Group, the location is the first freestanding outlet in Queensland, boasting dine-in and drive-thru capabilities for locals of Brisbane’s far west who are craving an immediate fix.

For the uninitiated, Carl’s Jr. is known for its signature range of Thickburgers, which are stacked sky-high with angus beef patties and other ingredients including portobello mushrooms, jalapenos, bacon, guacamole and more. Pair that with a selection of char-grilled burgers, chilli cheese fries, waffle fries, onion rings, ice-cream sandwiches and hand-scooped ice-cream shakes and it’s easy to see why the brand has successfully opened more than 3000 locations across 42 countries. Carl’s Jr. in Redbank Plains marks the beginning of a significant expansion in Queensland, with an expected 20 more locations earmarked for various locations across the state.
