Get your local fresh seafood from Cap’t Dave’s Seafood

If you are gearing up for the a change of ingredients with the upcoming change in season, seafood is a light and healthy alternative to heavy winter staples.

David McLean from Cap’t Dave’s Seafood sets up stall at the Kuraby Farmers Market each Saturday and the Red Hill Farmers Markets each Sunday. Dave’s seafood is fresh and local with fish from Bundaberg to the Tweed featuring mackerel, sweet lip, deep-sea mullet, red snapper as just some of the ocean’s bounty on offer. Tiger, king and banana prawns fresh off the Mooloolaba trawlers are cooked and ready to eat, as well as Coffin Bay oysters, North Queensland barramundi and Tasmanian salmon. Dave also sources frozen South Australian scallops and marinated mussels from New Zealand.

Whilst Cap’t Dave’s Seafood is a relatively new venture for David, his long management history in the retail seafood industry has put him in a great position to source the freshest and best seafood around. Check out these recipes to get you in the seafood mood: caramelised scallops with beetroot, walnuts and witlofcrispy fried salmon with spring vegetable broth or spaghetti with chilli prawns, salami and gremolata breadcrumbs.
