Brother Espresso opens fifth cafe, at Windsor

The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee is one that can not be surpassed of a sleepy morning, especially when this particular splendour is wafting amongst the exposed-brick interior of the heritage-listed Watsons Plumbing Building on Margaret Street in the city.

Home to the very first Brother Espresso venture, this cafe found success in its delectable, simple fare and good coffee, a regular haunt for office workers and students alike. Celebrating its fifth birthday just last month, the team behind Brother has almost made a game out of opening a new cafe as each year ticks over. Following the original Margaret Street locale, it expanded to Wickham Terrace in the city, Riding Road in Bulimba and opened its own roastery Fifth Battery in Fortitude Valley.

Now filling the specialty coffee hole on Brisbane’s northside, Brother has opened on Maygar Street in Windsor with a new built-from-the-base-up coffee kiosk among courtyard seating. With a new menu across the collection of cafes, try the Marinated Mushrooms with Smoked Roma Tomatoes, Ricotta and Organic Sourdough or the Organic Spelt Muesli with Creamy Vanilla Yoghurt, Fresh Seasonal Fruit and Honey (both $10). Classic favourite the Breaky Burger remains, meaning Brother fans can get their organic sourdough-avocado-prosciutto-vintage-cheddar-egg-and-aioli hit any day of the week, with the sunny Windsor setting open weekdays 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and weekends 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
