Brisbane bottled – Australian Distilling Co release new gin inspired by the river city

Many an iconic city has been immortalised in beverage form – think Long Island iced tea and the Moscow mule. No doubt inspired by these drinks, Australian Distilling Co have taken a crack at bottling Brisbane. Yes, the essence of Brissy can now be mixed with tonic or added to your next negroni with the arrival of Australian Distilling Co’s Brisbane Gin. How does our hometown taste? You’ll have to head to your local bar or bottle shop to find out.

A look through Australian Distilling Co’s gin collection feels like taking a tour of Australia. Prior to their Brisbane endeavour the distillery had already produced spirits inspired by Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. With only a few major cities left to capture, it won’t be long before the brand has gins to reflect the whole country. When crafting their recipes, the team at Australian Distilling Co consider each region and its produce carefully, creating products with flavours that truly reflect their namesake cities. Adding to the local flavour, spirits are distilled locally with this latest addition produced right here at Flinders Peak Winery in Queensland.

Brisbane Gin is said to reflect our city’s welcoming charm and sunny disposition. The recipe for that? A true London dry gin with notes of juniper and coriander, mixed with the zest of kaffir lime, Queensland finger lime and ginger. Australian Distilling Co founder Michael Hickinbotham promises drinkers that the bright flavours will offer a hint of sunshine in every sip. We’ve heard enough – pour us a glass. You can find this drop at Dutch Courage, The Gresham, Covent Garden, Hellenika at the Calile, The Boom Boom RoomBlackbird Bar & Grill or on Brisbane Gin’s website
