Meat, meat and more meat on offer at the Brisbane BBQ Festival

Okay, so there is more to this festival than just piles of delicious, meaty morsels – the Brisbane BBQ Festival has enough attractions to make a lifelong vegetarian interested. That being said, if you have a carnivorous hankering for some BBQ, you have found your dream event.

On Saturday July 2, a fierce aroma of barbecued meat will be emanating from the Brisbane Showgrounds as the Brisbane BBQ Festival offers its largest event to date. Cooked meat, craft beer, live music, workshops, market stalls and expert demonstrations are all on the cards for the day, which will kick off at 11:00 am sharp – just in time for an early lunch. Let’s talk food – the Brisbane BBQ Festival will be housing top food vendors cooking up a storm such as Ze Pickle, That BBQ Joint, Bella BBQ and Sydney’s Rangers Texas BBQ. A meat and barbecue expo component will teach amateur grillers some trade secrets and techniques, while 40 of Australia’s BBQ teams will battle it out for the 2016 BBQ Championships.

Drooling? If you aren’t already you will be on the day. In addition to the mountain of meat, craft breweries such as Newstead Brewing and Fortitude Brewing will be keeping the crowds watered alongside tastings from Buffalo Trace Bourbon. A live music program will feature performances from The John Steel Singers, The Hi Boys, Big Blind Ray and more. Grab some tickets now before they are gobbled up, then fast for a week because you’ll want to try all the food on offer throughout the day.
