Briki Espresso and Gelati Bar, St Lucia

Briki Espresso and Gelati Bar opens in St Lucia

Briki Espresso and Gelati Bar has opened in St Lucia, a great spot for a late light breakfast followed by cool and creamy ice-cream. The gelati is by the folk over at Ascot locale Caffe e Gelato Milany, with flavours like Macadamia, Bounty, Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Surprise and Berry Cheesecake filling the cabinet.

Sourced from a local Carina bakery, fresh loaves of steamy bread sit atop the counter, with the bread transformed into freshly toasted sourdough with assorted jams or banana, honey and cinnamon for breakfast. Smashed avocado, crumbly fetta and cracked pepper are also layered on sourdough while, come lunch, strong flavours like smoked mozzarella and salami or basil pesto, haloumi and smoked ham lay between spongey rolls.

Greek sugar-free yoghurt with gluten-free Maple Muesli, berries and honey continues the Mediterranean thread, with fresh croissants, baklava and cannoli ready to accompany your Two Seasons coffee. Utilising each inch of the small space, brother-sister duo Savas and Maria Ermides are keeping things simple, going back to basics with a few European flavours done well.

Briki is trialling opening late for gelati too, meaning a sugar-hit for students and a treat for kids.
