You do make friends with salad – Botanica opens its fifth salad and sweets dispensary in Albion
Beloved for its nourishing and mouth-watering selection of takeaway salads and grab-and-go treats, Botanica has been serving up fresh, vege-packed fare in Brisbane for nearly nine years. The boutique salad bar continues to take the city by storm, with four locations currently slinging savoury and sweet delights – with a fifth coming soon to Albion. Yep, come this Saturday October 16 northside locals will be able to lap up Botanica’s plant-based offerings and delicious confections without having to trek into town.
We wouldn’t be exaggerating if we were to say that Albion is one of the fastest growing ‘burbs when it comes to its hospitality offering. It seems with each passing week that we get to share with you, dear readers, whispers of another grand opening or something delicious in the works. With the announcement of Botanica’s fifth boutique takeaway joint (the others residing in Red Hill, Teneriffe, Hawthorne and Camp Hill, respectively) in the northside suburb, our hypothesis is proven true. Botanica owners Alison and Brett Hutley will be bringing their newest venture to the Albion Fine Trades precinct at 97 Sandgate Road, joining the ranks alongside The Cheeseboard, a wine-tasting showroom and Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters. The new notch in the belt was added after northside regulars made it loud and clear that they wanted their own dispensary of fresh takeaway salads and sweets at their fingertips and, at long last, their earnest pleas have been answered.
All of the crowd-pleasing regulars will be making an appearance in Botanica Albion’s salad cabinet, which is set to showcase a regularly rotating roster of zesty mixtures. Everyone’s carb-loaded favourite, the potato and pea with dill and parsley tahini dressing, will make an appearance, alongside winners like broccoli with cranberries, almonds and cashew garlic cream, cauliflower and sweet potato with yoghurt dressing and harissa, and kale and quinoa tabouleh with sumac, parsley, lemon and cherry tomatoes. The ever-scrumptious savoury tarts will be available to bag too, whilst dessert fiends can sharpen their sweet tooth with the store’s decadent and gluten free cupcakes and glazed bar cakes.
Botanica’s Albion location officially opens on Saturday October 16 – head to our Stumble Guide for operating hours. To celebrate the launch of the new store, the Botanica crew will be treating the first 100 customers to an exclusive Botanica tote bag, recipe card and an exclusive launch-day bundt cake at its grand opening celebrations from 9:00 am.
