Hone your hunger – Bite Markets kicks off at North Harbour tonight

Locals of Brisbane’s north and Moreton Bay areas have been clamouring for a night market to call their own, and tonight their prayers will be answered. The anticipated Bite Markets at North Harbour will be officially kicking off from 4:00 pm, housing more than 40 food stalls serving everything from decadent sweets to fresh seafood.

Ever since its announcement, we’ve been salivating at the prospect of having a new night market to flock to. After weeks of drip-feeding us tasty morsels of information, the arrival of Bite Markets at North Harbour is finally here. Some of the Moreton Bay region’s best food makers have signed on to be vendors, boasting a stellar cross-section of eats to enjoy. These aren’t just your run-of-the-mill markets either – Bite is housing its various makers and bars in a collection of customised shipping containers, surrounded by lush landscaped areas perfect for leisurely feasting. The market is family friendly too! Little ones can roam about The Paddock, Bite’s dedicated children’s play zone, which will be offering face painting, games and arts and crafts to keep kids entertained.

We could wax lyrical about all of the goodies available at the Bite Markets, but frankly we don’t have the space. What we can do is give you a sampler of what to expect when the gates open at 4:00 pm. If you like starting dinner with dessert (first, you’ve got our respect), we suggest you make a beeline for the highly regarded World Famous Funnel Cakes, fudge-filled goodness from Zoe’s Brownies or order a scoop or three from I Love My Gelato. Should you have a hankering for a substantial feast, Nimo’s Schnitzels, Moreton Bay Kitchen’s bug rolls, Kansai’s Japanese pizza and a cheese kransky from MITTE Berlin Street Food will do the trick. Vegan and vegetarian eaters are also amply catered for as well, with the likes of Mr Bunz, Tibetan Momo Cafe and September 18 delivering the meat-free goods.

Bite Markets will be open every Friday and Saturday from 4:00–10:00 pm. Entry is $3 for adults, while children under 12 enter for free.
