Nice buns! Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co. has arrived in Newstead

There was once a strapping young knight who made a very keen observation that his anaconda does not want none unless one has got buns, hon. We wholeheartedly agree – the anaconda is a metaphor for his insatiable hunger, right? And by buns, he surely meant Betty’s Burgers. The much-loved Noosa-born institution has made its way to Newstead for its second Brisbane location, bringing its signature burgers, decadent concretes and moreish sides.

If you consider yourself a burger connoisseur, then you are no doubt already familiar with Betty’s Burgers. There’s something pretty darn spectacular about the combination of its cloud-like fluffy buns, hand-rolled Angus beef patties and tantalising special sauce, which have made Betty’s renowned across the nation. After opening its first Brisbane store in Chermside in June this year, Betty’s has now fired up the grills in Newstead, residing beneath the Haven apartments opposite Gasworks.

For the uninitiated, allow us give you the juicy details. The retro burger shack serves up six mouth-watering burgers, ranging from the Betty’s Classic with Angus beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and Betty’s special sauce (you can make it a Betty’s Classic Stack with the addition of crisp fried mushrooms filled with melted gouda and gruyere cheese) to crispy chicken and pork belly burgers. There’s also a couple of cheeky off-menu burgs if you want to mix it up a little – the Double Double comes with double beef, double cheese, bacon, pickles, American mustard, tomato sauce and onion, and the Spicy Chicken is filled with Southern fried chicken, cheese, sriracha, pickles and Betty’s special sauce. French fries and onion rings can accompany your meal, but make sure you leave room for Betty’s concretes. The rich and creamy custard ice-cream can be custom designed to suit you tastes, or you can choose from preconceived flavours such as Peanut Butter Brittle, Honeycomb and Orange Biscuit Crunch, or Almond Toffee Marshmallow.
