Since debuting in 2013, Benny’s American Burger has expanded at a consistent clip, opening one new location every year over the past decade. For most of its lifespan, Benny’s has consolidated its position in South Australia and Victoria, but its newest chow spot sees the diner-inspired joint breaking into the Brisbane market. Benny’s American Burger can now be found on Little Cribb Street in Milton (in the space previously home to Cribb Street Social), with a fresh fit-out showing off its American inspirations, including cherry red booths and wall-spanning murals depicting the likes of Snoop Dogg, Michael Jordan and Morgan Freeman.

As one might expect from an American-style eatery, the Benny’s menu is stacked with hunger-busting options. It all starts with the burgers, with classic beef, chicken and vegetarian options covering most bases from the jump. But look further and you’ll spy some heart-stopping options that go the extra mile in terms of ingredients – we’re talking the Bigger Than Texas Burger with a house-made beef patty, chicken tenders, slow-cooked pulled pork, bacon, cheese and a lathering of sauce, or the Canadian, which crams two beef patties, bacon, poutine and gravy, chips and mayo between two buns. If those don’t get you to the limit, there are a bounty of sides – think onion rings, tater tots, pulled-pork poutine and loaded fries – to fill the gaps.

As part of its opening celebrations, Benny’s American Burger will be slinging 300 free burgers from 12:00 pm on Monday November 20. Get in early – these beauties will not last.
