TWE Bastille Day Brisbane

Celebrate the delights of France on Bastille Day

Brisbane’s foodie community will present locals with a selection of French cuisine, culture and entertainment to celebrate Bastille Day (or La Fête Nationale) this coming Monday, providing an opportunity to savour French fare and learn about the French way of life.

Monday July 14 offers the perfect excuse to tuck in to all manner of French delicacies, from French wines to indulgent dishes. The Chelsea Bistro will dish up as special confit chicken Maryland and baked rhubarb and pistachio praline, which, of course, should be accompanied by a bottle of French wine to mark the occasion.

Bringing French tradition to life, the Emporium Hotel is hosting a five-course Canard-Duchêne Champagne Dinner, with dishes such as beef cheek roulade, truffled peas, roasted pumpkin, celeriac and frisse sure to tempt tastebuds. Starting with an arrival champagne reception at Belle Époque Patisserie, guests will be accompanied by Antoine Huray from Canard-Duchêne Champagne House, who will discuss the wine during the degustation.

Montrachet in Paddington, C’est Bon in Woolloongabba, Boucher French Bistro in Gracevillle, Alchemy in Brisbane City, Aquitaine Brasserie in South Bank and the recently opened The Catbird Seat Bistro in East Brisbane all serve modern and traditional French fare, but be sure to book a reservation in advance.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Brisbane dining guide with more than 2400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
