When culinary kings collide – Howard Smith Wharves’ At the Table dinner series returns

After its huge success in 2019, Howard Smith Wharves’ pop-up dining series At the Table is back, bringing with it a talented roster of chefs ready to exhibit their respective culinary artistry. On Monday March 23, four local foodie legends will provide prospective feasters with an exclusive dining experience, featuring a mouth-watering three-course menu made live on the terrace under the lights of the Story Bridge. Go ahead, pull up a chair.

The first At the Table event for 2020 will see a fresh contingent of renowned Queensland-based chefs rock up at Bougainvillea House to collaborate on a carefully curated menu of delicious dishes. The one-night-only dinner will team up the riverside precinct’s executive chef, Patrick Friesen with Adam Wolfers from James Street gastronome locale Gerard’s Bistro, Alex Munoz Labart of Gold Coast fine dining institution Restaurant Labart and Louis Tikaram from HSW’s dedicated Cantonese-style restaurant Stanley, to create a flavoursome menu full of regional produce.

Inspired by eats found in far-flung places (think traditional South American mixed with modern Australian cuisine), the passionately put together three-course menu showcases locally grown and sourced produce. Menu picks include the aguachile with Mooloolaba prawns, jalapeno, cucumber and coriander, Byron Bay organic mushrooms, salsa verde, puffed rice and Vietnamese mint, and Chilean-style wood-roasted leg of lamb with smoked eggplant muhammara, walnut and onion. For the sweet tooths, dessert will be the option of two fruity-flavoured delicacies – jackfruit frangipane tart with vanilla gelato and kaffir lime, or the wood-fired stone fruit with streusel and Maleny Dairies cream. Diners will be able to wash it all down with drops from Jilly Wines and frothy ones from Felons Brewing Co., while taking in riverside views and watching the chefs in action as they engage in some culinary theatre.

Keen to tuck into a flavourful feast dished up by homegrown culinary champs? Tickets are $120 per person, secure your spot at the table here.
