Apthorpe Farm, located amongst the rolling hills and lush rainforest of Hampton north of Toowoomba, grows some of Queensland’s best seasonal fruit and vegetables including perfectly ripe avocados and delicious rhubarb – Apthorpe’s signature products. Visitors to the family-run farm can get hands on with produce from Apthorpe and its surrounding region, as the farm hosts guided cooking tours for those who enjoy creating sumptuous meals with freshly harvested food. To pick up farm-fresh produce, head to the Apthorpe Farm Marketplace, which stocks its own fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables, as well as produce and goods from the Darling Downs area including meat, cheese and dairy products, cakes, coffee and cookbooks.

Should you have a hankering for some prime produce, make sure you swing by the Eat Street Markets on April 17 and 18 and pick up some of the delectable ingredients that Apthorpe is known for growing. Not only can you nab a bag full of avocados but you can also walk away with a bundle of passionfruit, kiwifruit, mangoes and jars of gourmet relishes and jams.
