Visit the new Ann Gyoza Bar in Fortitude Valley
What was the empty shell where favourite bookstore Coaldrake’s used to be has been completely transformed into a thriving gyoza bar.
Ann Gyoza Bar serves up crispy-bottomed Japanese gyoza, with bento and tower boxes featuring at lunchtime. A stack of green salad, sushi and rice and a main dish of gyoza or the likes of teriyaki chicken or karaage, the Tower Box is proving popular as an all-bases type meal.
Gyoza comes with chicken, pork, vegetable, cheese, seafood or spicy fillings, served sizzling in its pan, straight from hot plate to table. At dinner, Sweet Chili Chicken Karaage, Crab Claws and Okonomiyaki feature on the extended menu, with Edamame an essential starter and Sakura Daifuku with Green Tea Ice-cream to finish.
This latest addition to the local dumpling scene also has a liquor licence on the way, with seven types of Japanese beer and both cold and hot sakes ready to grace eager palates.
