Let’s be honest – if we had our way we’d dine on degustations nearly every day of the week. Unfortunately our flights of fancy feasting are dashed as soon as we check our bank accounts, but thankfully Allium is making fine dining more accessible with its brilliant four-course offering The Shortlist. The New Farm restaurant is plating up a rotating selection of dishes that’ll impress, meaning we can get our fine-dining fill more than ever.

Ever since opening in 2016, New Farm’s Allium has been racking up numerous culinary accolades. Word spread quickly about the restaurant’s seven-course degustation menu – earning the spot a nod as runner-up in our EAT/drink Awards Best Fine Dining category. Now, the charming 40-seater is debuting a streamlined culinary experience called The Shortlist – a four-course set menu for $55 featuring a selection of the kitchen’s greatest hits.

The Shortlist has been designed to give diners the chance to try new dishes before they even hit the main menu. Head chef James Gallagher is flexing his considerable talent and whipping up inventive dishes for The Shortlist’s ever-changing menu, meaning you never know what sort of experience you’ll enjoy. Dishes such as black onyx rump cap, Hiramasa kingfish and white-chocolate parfait are known to feature, with a matched beverage option also available for a comprehensive dining experience.

Allium is hosting The Shortlist seatings on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and at lunchtime on Saturday. Head to Allium’s website to make a reservation.
