2Forks unveils its pulled-meat haven in the heart of Milton

Sure, you’re familiar with pulled pork burgers and shredded beef nachos, but do you really know slow-cooked meat? 2Forks in Milton is the place to go for some pulled-meat education, but don’t worry – you’re going to enjoy the learning curve. At 2Forks, the phrase ‘put a fork in me’ has never been more applicable.

The idea for 2Forks came into existence a year ago through a lively discussion between three friends, which was fuelled by dissatisfaction at the lack of quality pulled meat available in Brisbane. The conversation quickly turned into an inspired discussion of what would feature in their dream pulled meat-centric venue, with the trio settling on good management, good looks and good food. Based on those three core mantras, 2Forks was born. 2Forks specialises in offering a comprehensive range of Australian-sourced meat, slow-cooked for ten hours before being pulled apart using, you guessed it, two forks. A chic industrial-style space on Milton’s Railyway Terrace is home to the concept, offering spacious seating inside and outside, with plenty of tables suitable for groups and families.

So, how does a dedicated pulled-meat restaurant work? It’s simple. First, customers head to the counter and choose their meat – options include bourbon pork (made with real bourbon), tequila beef (made with real tequila), beer barbecue beef (made with organic beer) and pomegranate glazed lamb, among other succulent options. Second, choose the style – 2Forks offers burgers with black brioche buns, toasted burritos, jasmine rice, blue corn nachos and salads to combine with the tenderised meat. Third, choose a side or two to pair with your meal. All fries come unseasoned, so you can take advantage of the flavours of salt available at the salting station such as applewood smoked salt, Szechuan pepper, spicy scorpion salt, roasted garlic and sriracha salt. Diners can even watch the pulling process take place as they order (warning: you might drool), as succulent and tender meats simply fall apart at the touch of a fork. Not satisfied yet? Well, you can also get your mitts on USA-style pork ribs, spicy chicken wings and corn on the cob and before you take a seat, you can also order tap beer, cider or Australian wine to help wash it all down.
