REDSEA Gallery is delighted to introduce international artist, Zhong Chen, for his first solo exhibition in Brisbane. “Zhong Chen” is devoted to a progressive compilation of works, connecting his Chinese heritage to his current Australian journey.

This self-titled exhibition is dedicated to Chen’s contemporary portraits, not only exploring traditional ink brush references, but harnessing the importance of cultural identity. As outlined figures of Chinese origin cast themselves over vibrant abstractions, Chen’s canvases come alive with energy and character. His Kung-Fu characters reflect the balance found within the paintings’ composition.

Following in the footsteps of celebrated artists; Charles Blackman, Tim Olsen and Adam Cullen, Zhong Chen is the next Australian artist to have an Art Series Hotel in his name. Named in his honour, this multi-million dollar complex has already begun development.
