From August 15–31 Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre presents THE TEMPEST – a visually, physically and aurally stunning adaptation of Shakespeare’s last play. Directed by Zen Zen Zo Artistic Director Lynne Bradley, this poetic and provocative retelling of Shakespeare’s classic features original live music and a dynamic cast of 22 actors, dancers and singers. To mark 10 years since Zen Zen Zo’s THE TEMPEST last graced Brisbane stages, winning a Matilda Award for Best Independent Production, and its inclusion as a text in the new Queensland Senior Syllabus, Zen Zen Zo returns to wow audiences once again with their eclectic performance style.

Director Lynne Bradley promises a show full of magic, music and humour, performed with an ensemble of talented emerging and established artists: “Zen Zen Zo is excited to bring THE TEMPEST back to Brisbane, and to such a beautiful venue; Trinity Hall is incredible, a magical island right in middle of Fortitude Valley. Audiences should prepare for the unexpected – our incredibly talented cast will lead them on a journey of revenge, rebellion and forgiveness.” Notorious for their innovative, shocking and visually striking performance style, Zen Zen Zo has captivated audiences for the past 27 years in countless sell-out seasons in Brisbane, Japan, Singapore and Hong-Kong. Past seasons have all sold out, and THE TEMPEST looks to be no exception with tickets already in high demand.
