Young Creatives-in-Residence: Pattern Party

Young Creatives-in-Residence: Pattern Party

Join us on the school holidays fora week of hands-on art workshops for children aged 8-15 years. The day begins with an inspiration session touring an exhibition or exploring City Hall followed by a hands-on art activity to complement the focus for that day. Participants will be introduced to new artistic skills, encouraged to be extremely creative and develop an appreciation for existing artworks and architecture. Delivered and facilitated by our experienced art teachers your children will learn about each of our exhibitions and leave each day with a special artwork to display.

PATTERN PARTY
Children will be taken on a guided exploration of the City Hall and Museum of Brisbane seeking out the unique and heritage-listed architecture and interiors. Children will be encouraged to take photographs of interesting patterns or imagery seen on the tour, or create their own based on inspiration from the tour. These images will then be edited, simplified and used to create their own relief prints to be used for printing on either paper or fabric.
