Yarn Storytelling is a bi-monthly storytelling event, featuring true stories, told live and without notes. Come along on Wednesday November 11 to hear ‘Homecoming’ stories told by Jasmine Faribairn, Ashwin Segkar, Miranda Sparks, Stephen Lehane Smith, Rebecca Cheers and Jamie Ogden. Yarn producer Ryan Sim will be your MC for the evening.

The places we come from often shape us in ways we don’t even realise. Even after we move on, the echoes of where or how we grew up can still be heard through us. Some people try to escape those places, whether they be physical or metaphorical, while others are proud and happy to remain. And just as we’ve been changed, in small or big ways, so do we reshape those places we come from by way of the stories we tell about them. When we return to these places or these times, do we focus on the adversity they threw our way? Or is it the support networks they provided us with that is important? Or something else entirely?
