Brisbane Street Art Festival at Toombul
In true takin’ it to the streets fashion, local and international street artists will take over Toombul Shopping Centre, bringing its walls and sidewalks to life as part of this year’s Brisbane Street Art Festival.
Running from 4 May, the festival will see world renowned artists come together to create eight incredible murals, over two fun-packed weeks of exhibitions, performances, activations, pop-ups and an epic rooftop party!
For all you budding Picassos out there, Toombul will also be hosting a heap of workshops – typography, outdoor aerosol, lino printing, screen printing and more – there’s a hands-on workshop for everyone and every skill level. There’ll also be a live painting and panel discussion event where you’ll get to ask artists about their techniques and inspiration.
Watch live murals around the centre by Hong Kong based artist Kristopher Ho, Spanish artist Sortwo, local artist Karri McPherson and local Brazilian artist, Xandolino. Two artists will also battle it out in a Scribble Slam where you can watch a blow by blow of the artists in action.
The festival adds to an exciting line up of activity as Toombul announces its exciting new development, UPSTAIRS. Described as a thrilling dining and entertainment playground, UPSTAIRS will set the scene for artists to be inspired.
UPSTAIRS will be home to the headlining art piece by UK artist, Wasp Elder. 23-year-old local artist, Leans will also be given the ultimate street art challenge tackling the infamous trainline pillars outside Toombul.
