World Press Photo Exhibition 2023
The World Press Photo Exhibition 2023 is on its worldwide tour showcasing the best and most important photojournalism from around the globe, making its return to Brisbane Powerhouse from July 29 to August 20. For its 66th edition, the contest saw 3,752 photographers from 127 countries enter a formidable 60,448 photographs.
In yet another transformative year for the world, the highly-anticipated exhibition presents courageous stories, invaluable insights, and a diversity of interpretations – from the devastating documentation of the war in Ukraine and historic protests in Iran, to the realities in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, and the many faces of the climate change crisis in Morocco to Australia and Peru to Kazakhstan. The kaleidoscopic exhibition helps shed a light on global, sometimes lesser-known, stories.
Providing a variety of perspectives from all corners of the globe, the World Press Photo Exhibition 2023 invites viewers to step outside the news cycle, and think critically about important topics in our world – better yet, for free!
