SHIFA’ AL MUSIQA (Healing Music) is an intimate cross-cultural event curated by Brisbane based Australian Lebanese artist Amber Hansen, showcasing culturally diverse forms of music and sound performance to improve well being and resilience. Headlined by ambersound, a cross-cultural experimental project founded by Amber in 1997, SHIFA’ AL MUSIQA aims to explore, re-orient and express personal, as well as broader perceptions and experiences of culture, identity and healing through music, sound and visuals.

Guest performers include; Safar, Brisbane based ensemble performing Middle Eastern maqam music; Sonesence, Melbourne based sound artist who creates contemporary electroacoustic meditation music with meditones; and Thinley Tsering, originally from Tibet who practices traditional Tibetan healing methods including singing bowl meditation.
