Women in Voice 2019
Brisbane’s iconic cabaret institution returns to Brisbane Powerhouse with a superb mix of audience favourites and exciting new talent.
This year’s line-up is beloved Women in Voice veteran Alison St Ledger, the phenomenal vocal talent that is Queenie van de Zandt (as herself), the sublime musical stylings of Pauline Maudy (Mzaza) and a welcome return to WiV for blues mamma Barb Fordham, performing with her daughter Georgie Neilsen, lead singer of the indie sensation ‘Georgie Neilsen and the Growing Pains’.
Award-winning improvisor and comedian Jenny Wynter joins us as MC and, of course, the legendary WiV band will be there under the direction of Jamie Clark.
Every Women in Voice show is a unique blend of styles and genres, combining the talents of nationally-recognised homegrown artists and astounding new talent singing great songs in a way that keeps audiences returning year after year.
It’s exceptional, uncompromising and truly unique.
Women in Voice is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
