Undercover Artist Festival

Undercover Artist Festival

Undercover Artist Festival is the first arts and disability festival of its kind in Queensland.

Access Arts developed the idea for Undercover Artist Festival in consultation with a range of artists experiencing disability, arts workers who work with artists experiencing disability and Access Arts Members. Collectively these artists and individuals expressed a need for greater presentation opportunities for professional performing artists with disability and better representation in the industry, particularly by Australia’s Major Performing Arts Companies.

Undercover Artist Festival is led by founding Festival Director Belinda Locke, a theatre-maker and arts worker who identifies as experiencing disability.

This new national festival will be held at Queensland Theatre Company in Brisbane from Friday 26 to Saturday 27 June 2015. Artists from across Australia will showcase their work at a festival accessible to all artists and audiences. The festival will feature theatre, dance, music and cabaret performances, works-in-progress, installation art, stand-up comedy, workshops and forums.
