Twilight Notes 2: Ensemble Liaison

Twilight Notes 2: Ensemble Liaison

Described by Limelight magazine as a ‘national treasure’, Ensemble Liaison’s agile instrumentation and imaginative programming has featured collaborators from jazz great Tony Gould to Australian Ballet principals, a ten-hour concert for Chamber Music New Zealand, a series of Central Europe festival appearances, and their recent tenth anniversary season at Melbourne Recital Centre.

Enter their world with a trio described by a Brahms confidante and scholar as a work in which ‘it seems as though the instruments were in love with each other.’ Indulge in the ravishing tangos of Piazzolla and the soulful melodies of Gershwin before allowing Bizet’s swarthy Carmen to sweep you away as the evening unfolds just outside.
