True North

True North

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) will celebrate Queensland Day this weekend by welcoming artists back to the Concert Hall stage since the theatre’s closure in March. The concert, True North, will be streamed via YouTube from QPAC’s Concert Hall this Saturday June 6 at 7:00 pm.

This magical night of musical performances will bring together a huge roster of talented local artists and arts companies in a 90-minute collection of performances. This concert will help mark Queensland Day and recognises the extraordinary value of art and performance in difficult times.

Hosted by musical theatre star Amy Lehpamer, this once-in-a-lifetime concert features writer/actor/singer Steven Oliver, members of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Camerata and Queensland Ballet, Opera Queensland’s Rosario La Spina and Rebecca Cassidy, Southern Cross Soloists’ Alex Raineri, Irish folk quartet Sasta, musical theatre stars Alex Woodward and Shrubshri Kandiah, contemporary music artists Robbie Miller and Tom Thum, the inimitable Katie Noonan with Zac Hurren, and the QPAC Chamber Choir led by Choirmaster Tim Sherlock. Special messages will be delivered by Queensland Ballet’s Li Cunxin, QPAC chief executive John Kotzas, QPAC Elder in Residence Aunty Colleen Wall and Minister for the Arts The Hon Leeanne Enoch MP throughout the concert event.

Keen to see some homegrown talent back on stage again? Tune in to True North this Saturday from 7:00 pm here.
