Emma Bosworth is a singer-songwriter from Brisbane. She has played in bands since the age of 14 and is currently exploring writing and performing in a stripped back folky manner—a first for the girl who started performing in heavy rock bands in the garages of Logan homes. November last year marked the release of Emma Bosworth’s first solo album,Coming Up For Air. A long-brewed album of contrasts: a call-to-fun with the first drop of soul-inspired Penny, a call over the Brisbane backyard fence with My Town, and a yelping party-down on the skint side of lovin’ with Save Me. Bosworth knows how to howl with the rock ‘n’ roll best of them, while never apologising to express her comforts in picket fence platitudes reminiscent of The Lucksmiths, or even Brisbane’s own The Go-Betweens. A stand-up first solo album from Emma, AKA Emma Carton, also of Brisbane indie exponentsJ-Pan Fan, and earlier, The Flying Chimnees. Emma can also be heard on Rain on the Mountain, a song taken from Paddy McHugh’s album Trials and Cape Tribulations, and her songs have appeared on television series Slide and 2014 feature film, Predestination. 

Mitch King is Australia’s newest up-and-coming icon, showcasing inspirational live performances across the country with his ‘One Man Band’. Priding himself on stretching the boundaries as a singer-songwriter, Mitch’s passionate approach to innovatively blend the guitar, singing, harmonica, stomp box and tambourine are the fine ingredients which create his pioneering blues sound. Mitch has recently showcased his talent at festivals like the Gympie Muster and the iconic Byron Bay Blues Festival—his distinct sound is recognisable by people of all ages who feel they must stop and watch. His performances are both alluring and extremely uplifting—representing a stylish taste of blues, folk and pop. He released his first studio album, A life under the sun, in November 2014 and it has already received airplay on Australian commercial stations.
