Everyone’s favourite tinsel queen, artist, designer and Instagram icon Rachel Burke is hosting the prom to end all proms this Thursday September 29. Oh, and to make things extra fun, it’s space themed! The Trash N Treasure Planet Prom Runway event is set to transform The Paint Factory in Yeronga into an out-of-this-world, eclectic party space – think extraterrestrials, celestial goodness and lots (we mean lots) of glitter. The venue won’t be the only thing dressed in its intergalactic best, guests are also encouraged to dress in their prettiest prom look with an extraterrestrial twist.

The doors to the sparkly soiree will open at 7:00 pm and guests will receive cute Rachel Burke-made badges upon arrival. Then you can show off your best pout in the photo booth, grab a delicious drink and find a seat for the fashion runway, which will kick off at 7:45 pm. Party goers can expect to see 18 handmade looks by Rachel Burke, with each design created using up-cycled bases that have been transformed with a mix of deadstock fabrics left over from past collections, tulle, trims and of course, tinsel! The shiny bits in this collection are extra special as many were donated by Rachel’s Instagram followers who answered the call out for leftover party things. Following the fashion show there will be time to slow dance, imbibe some punch and maybe even share a smooch with your date. Plus, one lucky entrant will have a chance to win a famous tinsel jacket as a lucky door prize!
