TRANCEPLANT

TRANCEPLANT

Brisbane, 1994 – a group of Brisbane artists take over the derelict New Farm Powerhouse to present TRANCEPLANT, a large scale performance and installation event culminating in a ten-night season of up to one hundred performers per night.

Twenty-six years on, we invite original producers and participants Andy Forbes (multidisciplinary artist), Richard Mansfield, James Dabrowksi, Jay Younger (artist/curator), Anthony Babicci (stage designer/scenic artist) and Kiley Gaffney (artist/performer) back to Brisbane Powerhouse for an extraordinary Writers+Ideas event hosted by ABC Radio’s Rebecca Levingston.

This event will also feature a unique opening multimedia performance featuring two of TRANCEPLANT’s original artists, performer/singer Andy McDonell and Ben Ely (Regurgitator).

Don’t miss your chance to experience the phenomenon that was TRANCEPLANT and unpack the broader story of Brisbane’s cultural revolution set against the industrial decay of the ‘New Farm Powerhouse’.
