Returning in 2024 is the Opera Queensland Studio Series, offering audiences the opportunity to experience big and bold voices in the intimate setting of the Opera Queensland studio. This year’s Studio Series features six performances in a mix of genres – everything from comedy operas to beautiful arias – happening all throughout the year. On March 8 and 9, experience the mesmerising artistry of pianist Alex Raineri as takes the stage of the Opera Queensland studio in Speechless. Then later in March Heru Pinkasova weaves her true stories through reimagined Papuan folk songs to create the soulful operatic cabaret, Pacific Harmonies. The Best of Broadway will be performed by Helpmans Award winner Amy Lehpamer on September 20 and 21. Musical theatre gems from the classic to contemporary will be explored in this intimate and exclusive performance. In October, prepare to be enchanted by opera star Eleanor Greenwood and Queensland artist Shaun Brown as they breathe life into timeless classics in I Divi Illustrations of Operatic Superstars. After years of playing leading roles for Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House, much loved Queensland tenor, Virgilio Marino, returns home to present a special concert of his favourite arias and songs for Brisbane audiences in November 2024. Sip and snack while you soak up sounds from talented tenor Adrian Strooper in A Window into Song, taking over Opera Queensland’s studio from December 6–7.
