Discover the art of well-crafted  and dynamic picture books. Participants will undertake practical exercises using a storyboard format to construct a satisfying story arc, with attention to editing and controlling  the pace and moods of the story. Learn how to implement storyboard frameworks to create compelling picture and text narratives.

Please note: Admission to this course is by submission. The submission process is to ensure that projects are at a suitable stage of development; you will not be assessed on your writing.

Narelle Oliver is the author-illustrator of award-winning picture books, including The Best Beak in Boonaroo Bay, The Very Blue Thingamajig, Fox and Fine Feathers, and Don’t Let a Spoonbill in the Kitchen! Many of her titles have been published internationally. Narelle has a Bachelor of Education, and is an in-demand speaker and workshop presenter conducting writing and illustration workshops for preps to adult groups across Australia and South-East Asia.
