The Red Ribbon Street Appeal

The Red Ribbon Street Appeal

Every year, the Queensland World AIDS Day Alliance (QWADA) team hit the streets of Brisbane with volunteers armed with thousands of red ribbons to help raise awareness of this important health issue. This year promises to be even bigger and our sights are set high! QWADA aim to distribute approximately 10,000 red ribbons throughout the city as well as other areas.

How can you get involved? If you are an enthusiastic and energetic person who is willing to give two hours of your time to help distribute ribbons on Tuesday December 1 then QWADA want to hear from you! Simply email [email protected] with your details.

World AIDS Day is held on December 1 each year. It raises awareness across the world and in the community about the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS. It is a day for people to show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. QWADA aims to raise awareness in the Queensland community about HIV/AIDS issues, including the need for support and understanding for people living with HIV/AIDS as well as education and prevention initiatives. The particular focus is on World AIDS Day and the week leading up to that date.
