The Places We Go
‘The Places We Go’ is an exhibition of new paintings by Naomi White, Leisl Baker and David Usher. These paintings that each of the artist has completed over the course of 12 months are an culmination of a number of road-trips to various sites and represents their individual responses to the places they have visited or passed through in that time. Each has visited sites along the coastline or explored some familiar and new haunts, in ever more remote locations.
‘Painting is a science and should be pursued as an inquiry into the laws of nature. Why, then, may not landscape painting be considered as a branch of natural philosophy, of which pictures are but the experiments?’
John Constable (1776 – 1837)
