The Paper Kites
The Paper Kites is bringing its lush harmonies, introspective lyrics, and wistful, soaring melodies to Brisbane for one night this winter at The Tivoli.
The band created its sixth full-length LP, At the Roadhouse, somewhere in the Australian wilderness. The quintet quietly holed up in a building once served as a supply store for local gold miners to record (during the day) and perform (at night) to crowds of locals who quickly and graciously became “regulars.” Through the month-long residency, whiskey glasses shook at the edge of the stage, and emotions stirred from the soul.
The ARIA nominated group have released six studio albums, with their most recent record At The Roadhouse being showcased in multiple sold out tours across North America, Europe and the UK. Witness the magic when they bring this show to Brisbane in June as part of Open Season.
This event is presented as part of Open Season – a curated program of music and art running from May to July 2024. Open Season has been supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland’s QASP program, the Strategic Partnerships Fund, and through Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative.
