The Lonesome West

The Lonesome West

Troop Production’s latest masterpiece The Lonesome West is set to go off with a bang as it hits the stage at Judith Wright Centre this November.

This explosive black comedy, written by the internationally-acclaimed Martin McDonagh, is “brutal and savagely funny”, according to the Sunday Times. McDonagh is the author of the movie In Bruges starring Colin Farrell.

Set on the West coast of Ireland, The Lonesome West is the satirical tale of two brothers attempting reconciliation against a dark backdrop of patricide, religious hypocrisy and vicious bloody carnage.

The Lonesome West is directed by Keiran Brice, and stars local actors Christopher Story and Cameron Hurry who play the ill-fated Connor brothers, UK performer Eva McGillivray as the young and beautiful Girleen, and Irish actor, Derek Draper as the ethically bereft Father Welsh.

The show will run from November 8–18 at Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts as wells as an free matinee for high school students on November 8.
