The Humming Space

The Humming Space

Camie Lyons is a Sydney-based artist that works across a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting and drawing. Themes of movement, extension and repetition in Lyons’ works can be traced back to her earlier career as a professional dancer.

Jan Murphy Gallery is excited to present, The Humming Space, a pop-up exhibition of bronze sculptures by Camie Lyons. The Humming Space represents a tangle and layering of moments, a reference to the physicality of balance and movement.

Please join us on Saturday August 24 from 2:00–4:00 pm for an in-conversation with Camie, landscape architect Sidonie Carpenter and curator Beth Jackson.

Lyons studied Fine Arts at RMIT in Melbourne and later completed her Masters at the College of Fine Art (COFA), UNSW in Sydney. Her sculptures and large scale drawings have been commissioned for high profile public projects including Sydney City Council, Waverley Council, Tiffany and Co and Bates Smarts Architects. Her work is represented in numerous private and public collections in Australia and internationally.
