One of Brisbane‘s biggest champions of local music is City Sounds, a free showcase of up-and-coming artists that takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Queen Street Mall. As of June 5, The City Sounds program will extend to South Bank, adding nine new locations around the Parklands. For the month of June, you will be able to catch 32 artists performing, and from July onwards you will be able to catch City Sounds at South Bank on the last Friday and Saturday of each month.

On Friday June 5, catch the jazz and funk stylings of Shannon Marshall, the gentle folk of Angharad Drake, the indie pop of the Phoncurves and the unique free-form jazz from SCAT! On Saturday June 6 head to South Bank and by wooed by the striking voice of Lili Kendall, soul songstress Isabel, and flamenco guitarist Cameron Ford. All performances are free, so grab the family and spend some time listening to the best music Brisbane has to offer in one of its most picturesque locations.
