The Circle is set in Zürich in the mid 50s, when two young and very different men fight for their love. After all, love ain’t a crime.

Hailing back to a time when repression against homosexuals was at its most intense, Ernst, a shy, young teacher becomes a member of the gay organisation Der Kreis. There he gets to know the transvestite star, Röbi, and immediately falls head over heels in love with him.
