Tattersall’s Landscape Art Prize – Queensland Exhibition

Tattersall’s Landscape Art Prize – Queensland Exhibition

Tattersall’s Club enters its 26th year of the Tattersall’s Landscape Art Prize with a record number of 90 artists participating from across Australia. Each artist has submitted a landscape piece in the hope of securing the $30,000 cash prize and having the honour of joining the ranks of elite Tattersall’s Landscape Art Prize winners. This year’s entrants are of a particularly high calibre and include four 2015 Archibald Prize nominations, nine 2015 Wynne Prize entrants and three 2015 Sulman Prize entrants.

The 2015 art prize marks the 26th anniversary of this esteemed national landscape art award. The winning piece becomes part of the Tattersall’s art collection and is proudly displayed within the Club along with its fellow successors. It will be judged on Tuesday 1 September and the winner announced on Wednesday 2 September. The judging panel includes: Jason Smith, Curatorial Manager of Australian Art at QAGOMA, Nick Mitzevick, Director of the Art Gallery of South Australia, Associate Professor Lindsay Farrell, Faculty of Education and Art at Australian Catholic University and Michael Paramor, Tattersall’s Club Committeeman.

Art enthusiasts can explore the amazing pieces in the foyer of Waterfront Place from Monday September 7 to Friday September 18 from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. A secondary exhibition; the Queensland Exhibition, will also be on display. The Queensland Exhibition depicts the state of Queensland through various artworks.
