Sweet As – Brisbane Dessert Festival

Sweet As – Brisbane Dessert Festival

Brisbane’s very own festival dedicated to all things sweet (with savoury options) is launching at Musgrave Park, West End on Sunday June 3.

Presented by The World Food Markets, the Sweet As – Brisbane Dessert Festival brings you a day full of treats. There will be brownies, cheese, chocolate, coffee, cupcakes, doughnuts, gelatos, ice-creams, macarons, marsh mallows, meringues, popsicles, sorbets, waffles, craft beer, wine, dessert cocktails and more from an awesome line-up of Brisbane’s best dessert makers. This is a judging-free zone and you can have dessert for breakfast, brunch or lunch. There will also be street food, live music, pop-up bars, kid’s activities and entertainment throughout the day which promises to be a great way to spend a lazy autumn Sunday.

An awesome program awaits: Music for kids provided by Danibelle’s Musicadium, a healthy treats demo by Charlie’s Rawsome, an ice-cream eating contest, music from singer/songwriter Donnelle Brooks and a performance from Geed Up to round off the event with people working off the calories eaten on the dance floor. The fun zone will have plenty of activities for kids of all ages including human foosball, two jumping castles, an obstacle course and various giant games. There will be a face painter and activities organised by Creative Kids to keep the little ones entertained.

The Sweet As – Brisbane Dessert Festival is going to be an eco-friendly event with no plastic straws, Styrofoam containers or balloons as these all damage the environment. In an effort to keep our beautiful city clean and green, the festival is encouraging guests to bring reuseable straws, keep cups and water bottles (no glass or ceramic allowed unfortunately) on the day in an effort to reduce landfill. Hydration stations will be available to fill up. Besides the general waste and recycling bins Sweet As  will also be collecting organic waste with your help of course. BYO Picnic blankets, KeepCup, water bottle, friends, family and furry friends and the festival will provide the rest!
