The Stitches and Craft Show

The Stitches and Craft Show

The Stitches & Craft Show invites Brisbane to get crafty and share the handmade experience from 17-20 March 2016.

Leading the handcraft movement across Australia, the event offers a world class range of exhibitions, displays, hands-on activities, guest artists, fashion parades, make and take classes, workshops, DIY ideas and more.

You don’t have to be a hippy chick to be in awe of the stunning 10-metre long knitted and crocheted ‘flower garden’, created to celebrate 50 Years of Flower Power. A truly global creation with more than 207 contributors from over 24 countries – including Brisbane, Australia.

This year debuts a new textile art exhibition ‘A Matter of Time’. Curated by Brenda Gael Smith, it features 32 new works by some of the world’s foremost quilters.

Also, just arrived in Australia, is an outstanding quilt exhibition from the USA, themed Food For Thought. Featuring 34 selected artworks by leading quilters, it explores the many aspects food plays in our daily lives.

Be spun-out by talented Australian weaver Rainie Williams and enjoy one of her mini weaving workshops. Lust over beautiful bamboo looms, create fabric hangings and enjoy the calming effects associated with weaving.

The Love Vintage Show is back and commands its own definitive sense of chic. The main stage features vintage consultant Mistress Chrissy Keepence who will present styling demonstrations and makeovers.

Vintage exhibitors will be on hand to offer exquisite fashion, textiles and accessories, for you to enjoy a little retro renaissance.

This show is the ideal place to stock up on hard to find products, learn new crafting techniques and be inspired to create.

Our budding young artists are invited to join the cool kids in the Kids’ Corner and meet event mascot, Crafty Cat for a little colouring-in.

Tickets via www.craftevents.com.au or at the door.
