The Stitches & Craft Show Brisbane

One of the nation’s most loved travelling shows, The Stitches & Craft Show, is heading to Brisbane for a huge event from 19th to 22nd March at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, South Bank.

The Show will include expert retailers, hands-on classes, international textile exhibitions, educational workshops, handmade fashion parades, new product showcases, guest artist displays, DIY craft ideas and much more.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a fantastic range of tutorials led by craft experts including jewellery making, quilting techniques, sewing, scrapbooking, card making and embroidery.

Making its debut at the Brisbane Show will be the international textile art exhibition from Studio Art Quilt Associates featuring 50 art quilts made using a wide variety of styles, techniques and fibres by renowned quilters.

Award-winning guest artists will also be on hand to share their expert knowledge including quiller extraordinaire Christine Donehue and mixed-media artist, Fiona Hammond. While discussing tips and the latest techniques, the artists will showcase a range of their renowned works including card quilling, beading, coiled basketry and paper jewellery.

A highlight of the event will be an installation from the 5,000 Poppies Project, a large wall decorated with handcrafted poppies contributed by show attendees. A phenomenal initiative, the Project has seen over 40,000 poppies contributed to date with the aim of creating a giant ‘field’ for Federation Square on Anzac Day 2015.

Not only for the adult craft-enthusiasts, young crafters and big kids alike will be kept entertained at The Stitches & Craft Show thanks to a special Kid’s Corner coordinated by I’m A Craftaholic where little hands can take part in a variety of make-and-take workshops.

With something for every craft lover, The Stitches & Craft Show will be sure to delight and inspire audiences both young and old!
